About Swivel.
Reimagining workplace wellbeing for the modern world of work.
A smarter way to care for sedentary workers.
Work is more digital, more dispersed, and more demanding than ever. And with that shift comes a very real, very human cost: chronic discomfort, musculoskeletal strain, mental fatigue, and burnout — all made worse by long hours in static, unfit-for-purpose workspaces.
For too long, organisations have been forced to choose between ineffective checklists and costly, unscalable consultant models. Neither can keep up with the realities of today’s workplaces — or the complexity of real human behaviour.
Swivel was created to change that.

Our purpose.
We believe supporting employee wellbeing starts with understanding how work actually feels — physically, mentally, and systemically.
Swivel is more than a digital ergonomics tool. It’s a holistic, evidence-based platform designed to help organisations prevent discomfort, reduce injury risk, and support healthier habits at scale.
Grounded in behavioural science.
Powered by real-time intelligence.
We help people take control of their comfort. We help organisations take responsibility for their risk.
How Swivel began.
Swivel was born from a systems problem — and built to solve it.
Co-founder Byron Kwong, an occupational therapist, ergonomist, and WHS leader, saw firsthand how often people were injured, not by accidents, but by invisible, everyday strain. While managing large-scale ergonomics programs, he noticed the same pattern: workers were either given generic tools they couldn’t apply, or specialist services they couldn’t access.
Alongside Will McKenzie (user-centred design) and Michael D. Rosario (software development), Byron began building something new: a platform that could bring the best of evidence-based ergonomics into everyday workflows — at scale.
No funding rounds. No shortcuts. Just purpose, perseverance, and a clear goal: To help every worker feel better at work.
Built with purpose. Backed by evidence.
Swivel isn’t just clever software. It’s a living system grounded in:
Behavioural science
Habit loops, nudge theory, feedback models.
Systems ergonomics
Holistic, participatory, psychosocial-aware risk design.
Validated research
Pain and mental health, sedentary risk, psychosocial hazard management.
Human-centred design
Intuitive, accessible, adaptive for any worker, anywhere.

Explore the research.
We’ve collaborated with researchers, economists, designers, and WHS professionals to build a product that’s not just smart — but trustworthy, scalable, and effective.
Why Swivel works.
Swivel isn’t just clever software. It’s a living system grounded in:
Real-time personalisation
Tailored guidance based on each user’s equipment, habits, and environment.
Proactive behaviour change
Nudges, nano-courses, and in-the-moment coaching drive real improvement.
Scalable across teams and time zones
Works as well for one remote worker as for 10,000 staff across five countries.
AI-powered, people-first
Expert logic delivered with intuitive tech, not jargon or manual assessments.
Actionable insight for organisations
Clear data on risk trends, comfort improvements, and equipment fit.
Minimal admin, measurable impact
Reduce WHS overhead while increasing employee autonomy and safety.

A culture shift you can feel.
In Swivel-enabled workplaces, something shifts.
People speak up sooner. Teams take ownership of their comfort. Discomfort is addressed — not tolerated. And yes, “getting Swiveled” becomes part of the culture.
That’s what happens when ergonomics becomes something people do — not something they get told.
Independent. Proven. Human.
Swivel has been independently built over 11 years — no outside investment, no dilution of purpose. Just a single-minded focus on delivering something better for real people doing real work.
Today, Swivel is used by leading organisations across industries to:
