Breathing exercises can be a powerful tool for cultivating mindfulness and presence in the present moment. When we’re fully present and grounded in our bodies, we’re better able to cope with stress and handle challenges with greater ease.
To practice mindful breathing, take a few deep breaths while paying attention to the sensation of air moving in and out of your body. Notice how your belly rises and falls with each inhale and exhale. Allow any thoughts or distractions to simply pass by, without judgment or attachment. Keep your focus on the breath, and allow yourself to sink deeper into a state of relaxation and self awareness.
