Importance of Stretching - Muscle Stiffness and Flexibility

Stretching is crucial for maintaining muscle health, reducing stiffness, and increasing flexibility. Tight muscles can cause discomfort and pain, which can lead to a decrease in overall physical performance. To combat this, try these in-office stretching exercises:

  • Shoulder Stretch: Reach one arm across your chest, using the other arm to gently pull it towards you. Hold for 15-20 seconds and switch sides.
  • Seated Hamstring Stretch: Sit on the edge of your chair with one leg extended out straight. Lean forward from your hips, reaching towards your toes. Hold for 15-20 seconds and switch sides.
  • Neck Stretch: Slowly tilt your head to one side, bringing your ear towards your shoulder. Hold for 10-15 seconds and switch sides.
