Importance of Stretching - Injury Prevention and Physical Performance
Stretching not only reduces muscle stiffness but also helps prevent injuries and improve physical performance. By incorporating stretching into your daily routine, you can prepare your body for physical activities and decrease the risk of injuries. To achieve this, try these in-office stretching exercises:
- Hip Flexor Stretch: Stand in a lunge position with your back leg extended behind you. Gently press your hips forward and hold for 15-20 seconds. Switch sides.
- Seated Spinal Twist: Sit tall in your chair, place one hand on the opposite knee, and gently twist towards the back of the chair. Hold for 15-20 seconds and switch sides.
- Calf Stretch: Stand facing a wall with one foot forward and one foot back. Lean forward, pressing your heel towards the ground. Hold for 15-20 seconds and switch sides.
