Importance of Stretching - Relaxation and Mental Clarity
Stretching promotes relaxation, reduces stress, and improves mental clarity. By taking regular stretching breaks throughout the day, you can reduce tension in your body and increase focus. To achieve this, try these in-office stretching exercises:
- Seated Cat-Cow Stretch: Sit tall in your chair, place your hands on your knees, and inhale as you arch your back. Exhale as you round your spine. Repeat for 10-15 breaths.
- Seated Pigeon Pose: Sit tall in your chair, cross one ankle over the opposite knee, and gently press the knee towards the floor. Hold for 15-20 seconds and switch sides.
- Seated Forward Fold: Sit on the edge of your chair and slowly fold forward, reaching towards your toes. Hold for 15-20 seconds.
